It covers full tuition fee, hostel charges, and provides a maintenance allowance. SC students must have family income below ₹2.5 lakh/year; ST students have no income limit. Apply at scholarships.gov.in.
Do girl students get any special scholarship?
Yes! AICTE offers the Pragati Scholarship for Girls which gives ₹30,000 per year to girl students in AICTE-approved diploma programmes. Family income must be below ₹8 lakh per annum. Apply at scholarships.gov.in between October and November every year.
When should I apply — before or after admission?
You must apply for scholarship after taking admission, because you need a valid enrollment number and bonafide certificate from the institution to complete the scholarship application on NSP. The scholarship portal typically opens in October–November, after the academic year begins in September.
How is the scholarship money transferred?
Scholarship money is transferred directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). It is important that your bank account is linked to your Aadhaar and the account is active. You can track the status of payment on the PFMS portal at pfms.nic.in.
Do I need to renew the scholarship every year?
Yes, scholarships must be renewed every academic year on the NSP portal. Renewal is easier — you log in with your existing credentials and update your academic progress and documents. You must maintain satisfactory attendance and performance for renewal. The institution will verify your renewal application.
What if my scholarship application is rejected?
If your application is rejected, you will receive a reason for rejection on the NSP portal. Common reasons include incorrect documents, income certificate issues, or Aadhaar mismatch. You can correct and resubmit within the deadline. Contact our Scholarship Cell at the institution for guidance and assistance.
